If you just want to read through a narration of his story it starts here.

□ Personality:
While we never see Signless as an active character in the comic, most of his personality can be gleaned from his life's story as it was narrated, mention in the pages of an ancient journal, as well as through the word of the author himself, who stated that outside of the anger, he shares many key traits with his 'descendent', Karkat.

Like Karkat, his blood is a mutant, cherry red color that doesn't exist in the hemospectrum, which is the caste system basted on the color of one's blood. Being a mutant alone is reason enough to be killed on Alternia. It means that he literally didn't have a right to exist, but unlike Karkat, he doesn't hate it. He's proud enough of who he is that he wears it on his clothes, but only a little. Drawing too much attention to himself would be a really bad idea for obvious reasons.

Signless has visions of an Alternia that is peaceful. Lucid dreams where trolls help and care for each other rather than cause fear and pain. What he doesn't fully realize is that they are actually memories seeping through from a previous life that had been erased and rewritten. There are a lot of things in his visions that he doesn't understand, but all he knows is that the world they're living in is so very wrong, and he believes with all his heart that it can be set right.

The most notable thing about Signless is that he is very clearly meant to be a parallel of Jesus, his story following a very similar path. He is full of love for his people, regardless of class or creed. He cares to the point of heresy, though unlike Karkat who tries to hide that part of himself, he fully embraces it, and is very open about it. Where this would be considered a great sign of weakness to most trolls, for him it was his greatest strength.

While he had a wide following, there were very few he kept close to him. "The Dolorosa", who had taken on the unprecedented task of trying to raise the young mutant herself rather than leave it to die. "The Psiionic" is a troll that was so moved by Signless' words that they gave him the strength to escape slavery to follow him. Then there was his "Disciple", who recorded his words faithfully and, over time, he'd opened his heart to her. It's been said that their love transcended every concept the troll's had about love.

Not to say that he's gentle and perfect all the time. He's still a troll and still fallible, subject to the array of negative emotions all trolls have to deal with. He can get upset and frustrated just like everyone else. Hell, even Jesus was known to literally flip tables when he got angry. Signless just has this way of letting it go so it doesn't linger and turn to a poison. And that is exactly what he was trying to teach others about. Society needed to change, and the only way that would happen is if someone made the effort to change it.

Signless never received whatever sort of formal educations trolls on Alternia got as children, but learned all he knew from his 'mother' as she raised him . He's a very well spoken, charismatic troll, evidenced by the sheer amount of followers he had. And whether he had wanted it or not, his words were used as a basis to start a revolution that reached across galaxies before it was eventually snuffed out.

He knows full well that he wouldn't survive doing what h's doing, but he's too determined and bullheaded to stop and save himself. He alone wouldn't be able to undo centuries of oppression, but if he can spread his beliefs to enough people than over time things might change.

Judging by the fact that he had been very careful to keep hidden, preaching only to those who seemed receptive off the message, ad all out sectarian war was not even remotely what he was going for. With how Karkat blamed himself for everything that had gone wrong, Signless would be the same way. He carries the suffering of his entire race on his shoulders, so inciting a war -even unintentionally- is something he would never be able to forgive himself for. And like Karkat, he would consider himself a failure of a leader for not being able to control his followers.

Kankri, as he was in his former life, also tried to be the cause of change for his world, but went largely ignored. It's said that Signless went about his crusade in a much more mature way, actually doing what Kankri had thought he was doing. Kankri has this bad habit of preaching without teaching, steamrolling through conversations without letting anyone get a word in edgewise, which ends up pushing people away more often than not.

Considering the success Signless had, it's easy enough to infer that he did the opposite. He was open to dialogue and debates on the subjects he spoke about, encouraging actual participation without being overbearing.

□ Age: Unknown, Adult
□ Gender: male
□ Appearance: He is shortish, with gray skin, pointy teeth and wild black hair with two nubby horns poking out of it. The sclera of his eyes are gold, but the pupils are a vibrant red like his blood. He is known for wearing REALLY TALL pants that come up under his arms, and a hooded cloak.

As for anatomy, I run on the popular bulge/nook combo (aka, why can't Athy play a character with normal anatomy), where the retractable phallus is prehensile, and has what amounts to an alien vagina underneath it.

□ Abilities/Powers: He would have residual powers as the Seer of Blood from his previous life, but we don't know what they are exactly. It can be insinuated that it has something to do with being able to see the truth of someone, though the only real instance of this we know of on his part is the fact that he could see into his past life, and that he knew another like himself would come in the future.

Given that it's completely impossible to be a pacifist on Alternia without getting murdered in horrible ways, it's likely that he's just as capable a fighter as any other troll was raised to be. Though rather than be offensive he's mostly defensive, preferring to disarm an enemy and render them unconscious over killing them.

□ Personal Items:

-=the first image to appear is of a quiet area along the side of a building, whoever this is turns to look out across a busier section of street, their eyes passing a window enough to glean an image of someone in a hooded cloak=-

I was told I can now communicate with others with just a thought, though I must admit I am not at all comfortable with the idea. I have also never been off world before now, so please forgive me if there are things I don't understand.

-=the voice sounds calm and very kind, if not justifiably confused=-

I have listened to everything they had to tell me, and of all the fates that could have come of me, this is by far the most unexpected. I have to assume there are others here such as I, who have been stollen from their homes and loved ones. All I can say for now is have hope. Have hope and keep the thoughts of those you were taken from close to your heart. They will give you strength.

This will not be forever.
